Niall O'Shea to launch debut album tomorrow!
EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY!
Musician. Niall O'Shea will launch his debut album, Inner City Dogs on the 10th of September (tomorrow evening) at Crawdaddy, Dublin.
An ambitious beast of an album it combines stripped down acoustica, sunny experimental and rock 'n roll from the trenches.
This album is a snap shot of Niall's life over the last few years as the intrepid traveller made his way across Europe and the Southern Hemisphere and ultimately the emotions he felt upon his return. Tongue in cheek lyrics and shooting from the hip, as it were have resulted in a bold and daring album.
A myriad of different instruments from strings to brass have resulted in an eclectic selection of music, which quite simply, makes your heart sing. Best of all Niall writes, sings and co produces...genius... I LOVE this album, think you will too. Come to Crawdaddy tomorrow night, 8.00pm, Harcourt Street, Dublin.
Check out Niall's website for more details and make sure to get this album, your ears will be treated to some sweet sounds. http://www.niallosheamusic.com/

Catherine's Roman Holiday
Really looking forward to watching our client, Catherine Fulvio's second cookery series, Catherine's Roman Holiday on RTE 1. The show which starts on the 3rd of September at 8.30pm shows great cooking which will bring the true taste of Italy (with a good pinch of Italian sunshine) into our homes.
The show is shot on location in Rome, one of the greatest gastronomical centres of the world and shows Catherine on a mission to find the very best and most carefully guarded authentic Roman family recipes. Its a lively show and sees Catherine meeting some real characters as she zips accross the city on her Vespa....when in Rome and all that!!
If you can't wait to see the first show then check out a quick snap shot from the first episode here.

Taste of Kildare Huge Success
TASTY, TASTY, VERY, VERY TASTY!
Wow, what an incredible day we had yesterday at Taste Kildare in the Victorian Walled Garden of The K Club. The numbers were unbelievable, thousands and thousands of people turned out in the afternoon sunshine to taste some great food, check out some fab craft and dance to the sound of Harlequin - what a great band they are too....thanks to Shane and co in Harlequin, people everywhere were on their feet, swaying to the music whilst chomping on something tasty.
The resident sommelier, Lisa O'Doherty brought lots of people on wine tours around the fantastic K Club wine cellar while John Ryan, the art expert at the resort lead groups of people on a guided art tour around Straffan House (the original part of the hotel). The Westgrove Hotel in Clane had a pig on a spit which was incredible, Indie Spice brought a taste of Asia to the festival while The K Club brought out an incredible tasting plate to showcase the fantastic food prepared by chef Finbar Higgins and his amazing team. There was also some lovely cookery demonstrations which went on throughout the day in the Miele kitchen. Chefs Rozanne Stevens, PJ Cunniham from Palmerstown House and Louise O'Hare from What's Cooking all shared some great recipes with the onlookers. The kiddies too had a great time in the soft play area which featured a bouncy castle, giant games, face painters and enertainers.
Enable Ireland were the nominated charity on the day and all funds raised went to the charity.
All in all it was a huge success, congrats to all on a super day, hope you all had fun!

Catherine's Italian Kitchen
Catherine's Italian Kitchen
We are all terribly excited here in O'Brien PR as our client, Catherine Fulvio's debut cook book, Catherine's Italian Kitchen has just arrived, hot off the press and is now being passed, excitedly around the office. Catherine's new book is out just on time, ahead of her second RTE Television series, Catherine's Roman Holiday which will air on RTE, starting on the 2nd of September.
The book features some great recipes for all family and friends and is peppered with beautiful photography from Sicily and Catherine's own cookery school, Ballyknocken House and Cookery School in Wicklow.
The book is published by Gill & McMillan and will be available through book shops nationwide at the end of this month.
Happy reading and even happier cooking!

Soul food
SOUL FOOD
Was looking for somewhere lovely to be throughly spoilt for a few days, sans babies, so myself and the other half (the good half) went off to the rebel county for a few days to the most amazing, throughly fantastic Castlemartyr Hotel in Cork. The hotel is set on over 220 acres and includes a spa, hotel, several restaurants and the most friendly, chatty staff you could ask for. The hotel is mainly housed in the old house which has been beautifully restored, The Gallery Bar retains its original stucco ceiling, grand and impossing the hotel manages to perfectly blend classic Irish hospitality with all of the trappings of a true five star resort. without being stuffy or too formal...and the rooms....did I mention the rooms. Big enough to swing a family of tigers in never mind an ould cat. The beds are squishy and include goose down pillows and duvets, the bathrooms are finished in marble and the bath is deep enough to really sink into. Right throughout the whole hotel you will find original art work, interesting lamps or vases and lovely old books.
Going home tomorrow, but will be back, LOVE this place! Check out http://www.castlemartyrresort.ie/ and indulge your senses, your soul will thank you for it.

Taste Kildare Launched
Mmmm....Tastes Like Summer!
The K Club was the place to be today for food lovers, keen to get their chops around some good grub as it was also the official launch of Taste Kildare, a festival that celebrates the true food champions of the county and all the craftiest of crafts people.
We enjoyed some tasty morsels and found out all the delectable news about what is coming up at this year's festival. The event will take place in the Victorian Walled Garden of The K Club on the 22nd of August and includes heaps of things to do for little and big people. The little ones can throw themselves around the soft play area to their hearts content, get their faces painted, enjoy a duck race (not real ducks mind) on the River Liffey and stuff themselves silly with ice cream while the adults (can also stuff themselves with food/ optional...) can check out the art tours, wine cellar tours, meet the food and crafts people, have a tipple of something lovely and generally have a smashing time.
Sounds tasty.
All on at The K Club on the 22nd of August, €10 per car and monies raised go to Enable Ireland, Kildare branch. Check out http://www.tastekildare.ie/ for more details or log on to http://www.kclub.ie/
